The Golden State Warriors haven’t made any significant changes to their roster. The only change that has happened to the Warriors is the departure of big man Kevon Looney. Other than that, the front office has been fixated on addressing the Jonathan Kuminga issue. However, according to recent sources, a verbal deal has been reached with Golden State’s management and free agent big man Al Horford.
There have been a few names that have been linked to the Warriors. However, they haven’t made any moves to add more help for their Big 3 of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler.
Former NBA star Joe Johnson recently appeared as a guest on Shannon Sharpe’s “Nightcap.” During his appearance, the former Brooklyn Nets star suggested that the Warriors should make a move to add LeBron James to their team. According to him, pairing him with Curry over Luka Doncic could potentially be more fruitful.

Fans have seen how well the two stars work together in the 2024 Paris Olympics with Team USA. Now, they want to see more of the duo in the NBA.
“If I had to choose, I’m going Steph [over Doncic],” Johnson said. “Not only because he’s proven, but he’s a guy who’s gonna command so much attention that LeBron will really get to play a natural position, which is like more of a facilitator. Yeah, he gonna probably still score about 22 to 25 points a night, but him facilitating? Oh my god.”
With James’ elite court vision, Curry could find it easier to play off the ball. The Golden State Warriors star is more comfortable playing without the ball, constantly running around the floor. The gravity he demands, paired with the Lakers star’s ability to find open teammates, could birth a deadly duo if the Warriors follow Johnson’s advice.
The Golden State Warriors reached out multiple times to the Lakers for a potential LeBron James trade

The Golden State Warriors were reportedly willing to make a trade to acquire James. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Warriors reached out to the Lakers “multiple times” in the past 18 months for a potential LeBron James trade.
“As long as LeBron James’ future in Los Angeles remains uncertain, Golden State will undoubtedly be mentioned as a potential James suitor. I’m told that the Warriors have called the Lakers on multiple occasions over the past 18 months to see whether there is any trade pathway to pairing James with Stephen Curry, who roughly a year ago at this time was teaming with LeBron for the United States senior men’s national team on its run to a gold medal at the Paris Olympics,” Fischer reported.
Fischer added that the two stars enjoyed playing together during the Olympics in Team USA.
