The regular season is over and the NBA will soon announce who’s the Clutch Player of the Year. For former NBA star and current analyst JJ Redick, though, that honor should belong to Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry.

In a season marred by injuries and suspensions, Curry has been one of the few positive constants for the Dubs. While Klay Thompson isn’t the player he was a few years ago, Draymond Green attracting suspensions via his controversial antics on the court, Andrew Wiggins’ regression, and Chris Paul not having the same effect he did during his prime, the Baby-Faced Assassin has continually put out great performances to keep Golden State relevant in the Western Conference.

Over the course of 74 games this season , the Warriors All-Star guard averaged 26.4 points on 45 percent shooting from the field, 40 percent from beyond the perimeter, and 92 percent from the free throw line. He also put out 4.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per contest.

Even with his teammates experiencing some sort of regression this year, Curry managed to stay the same over the regular season. Thanks to his consistency, GSW ended their run with the 10th seed and a chance to make the playoffs via the Play-In Tournament.

While there are several arguments on who should win MVP and the Most Improved Player this year, there’s no one more deserving the Clutch Player than Curry. In a video posted by Cyrus The Virus on X:

“He’s got the most clutch time points. He’s shooting 50% from the field, and 45% from three… Just a phenomenal clutch time performer as always from [him].” JJ Redick on voting for Steph Curry as the Clutch Player of the Year,” Redick said.

Over the past few months, Curry has continually performed well when the Dubs needed him the most. Without him, GSW would not have made the Play-In Tournament.

With the Dubs holding the 10th spot, they would have to win twice in the coming days to make the postseason. Fortunately, the have Curry in the lineup, making their chances stronger as the road to another ring for the franchise is harder than expected, especially with the ascension of younger teams, like the Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference.
