The Golden State Warriors have reportedly reopened talks on potentially sending Jonathan Kuminga to the Sacramento Kings via a sign-and-trade. However, the negotiations have stalled because the former isn’t interested in acquiring Malik Monk in the proposed package.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Club 520 podcast, former NBA champion Jeff Teague explained how Monk reminds him of a former Golden State Warriors guard.
“Malik Monk could actually be a fire addition to the Warriors. But I think they are set in a big… That’s what they need more than anything,” Teague said.

“I think he’d be a fire addition though, cuz they need a spark plug like him. That’s the Jordan Poole type of player right there. And I think if he got in that system with those veterans and those players that could mold him a little more, he’ll probably be better than Jordan Poole, to be honest,” he added.
Golden State Warriors Rumors: Steve Kerr is reportedly “pissed” at Jonathan Kuminga, per insider
The Golden State Warriors’ protracted saga involving Jonathan Kuminga has reportedly angered head coach Steve Kerr ahead of the team’s training camp in preparation for the 2025-26 NBA season.

“They use this thing that Steve Kerr doesn’t want him (Kuminga). And now you potentially piss off deeper. I think they have to piss off deeper,” Tim Kawakami shared on the Warriors Plus Minus podcast.
“And I don’t think they or Kerr, whatever. We’ve heard about this promise of minutes and significant minutes to Kerr, and telling him no matter what you’re in. You’re not telling that at the start. And then we’ll see. He’s not telling him no matter what,” he added.
