Stephen Curry made it clear that there’s no budding rivalry between the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings, following their 137-103 home win against their fellow Northern California team on Friday night.
“Geographically, yeah,” Curry answered after he was asked if the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings would remain rivals in 2026 via NBC Sports Bay Area. “That’s about it.”
These two teams faced off in the postseason twice over the past three seasons. The Golden State Warriors beat the Sacramento Kings in seven games during the first round of the 2023 playoffs. Sacramento got its revenge during the 2024 NBA play-in tournament, securing a 118-94 result in the No. 9 vs. No. 10 game.
Curry led the Golden State Warriors with a game-high 27 points, 10 assists, two blocks, and six three-pointers on 10-for-21 shooting from the field in 32 minutes of action. De’Anthony Melton, Jimmy Butler, Brandin Podziemski, Gary Payton II, Quinten Post, and Draymond Green added 19, 15, 14, 12, 11, and 11 points.

Golden State Warriors News: Jonathan Kuminga picks up 10th consecutive DNP-CD
Almost everyone from the Golden State Warriors saw action during their blowout win over the Sacramento Kings, except for Jonathan Kuminga, whose last appearance was against the Phoenix Suns last month.
As always, Steve Kerr was quizzed about Kuminga’s DNP-CD, and the Golden State Warriors head coach offered a blunt response about the 23-year-old forward, who signed a two-year, $48.5 million contract last September to stay with the team.
“I’m disappointed for JK that things didn’t continue to go the way they did the first couple of weeks. At the same time, it was going to be tricky to start JK, Jimmy, Draymond — anybody can see that’s a tough combination,” Kerr explained via KNBR.
