The Golden State Warriors, while not a bottom team this season, definitely do not look like the strong championship contenders that they used to be. They win from time to time but also suffer losses after losses. With that said, the Bay Area team has been a regular name in the rumor mill for trade news, and this time, rumors are suggesting that the Warriors are eyeing Milwaukee Bucks forward Boby Portis.
According to NBA insider Brett Siegel, the Golden State Warriors are eyeing Bucks forward Bobby Portis for a potential trade. As with all trade rumors involving the Warriors so far, this potential acquisition is expected to improve the team’s roster around their star player Steph Curry.
This rumor of a Portis trade came after the previous buzz of a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade. The rumor died down since there was no indication that the Bucks would be willing to let the face of their franchise go, or that the Warriors would be able to make an offer that could entice the Milwaukee front office.
A Bobby Portis trade to pair with Steph Curry could make sense in several ways. Portis can provide scoring off the bench, which would take some pressure off Curry and give the Warriors another reliable offensive option. As a strong rebounder, he could help the Warriors improve their rebounding stats and give them more second-chance opportunities.

So far this season, Bobby Portis is averaging 13.5 points per game, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists. He shoots 46.6% from the field, and 37.8% from beyond the arc. As more teams are finalizing their trade deals this season, the Golden State Warriors are expected to make their move, if any at all.
Golden State Warriors Star Players Shares Realization After Luka Doncic Trade
Perhaps one of the biggest shocker trades this season, if not the biggest one, was the news of the Dallas Mavericks trading their star player Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for veteran star Anthony Davis. Dubbed as the trade no one saw coming (and some did not even believe at first), Golden State Warriors star player Steph Curry reflected on the reality of the NBA that this trade deal reminded everyone.

“It’s a reminder that there are only a few in this league that can go to sleep with any type of confidence,” Curry said. “It’s kind of a very unique situation across the world. But I think just the idea that it happened in silence was pretty crazy.”

“The fact that you hear a trade and everybody thinks you’ve been hacked is hilarious.”
The Golden State Warriors currently stand 11th in the Western Conference with a record of 24-24.
