The Golden State Warriors should take advantage of time, while they still can, and build a roster around their star player Steph Curry, as they are unlikely to have a player like Curry for a long time. At least, this is what one analyst thinks in light of the declining performance of the Bay Area team.
In a podcast episode, sports analyst Jason Timpf gave his take on the topics of Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors in one of the recent episodes of his program “Hoops Tonight.”
“You will not have a player like Steph for a long time, if ever again,” Timpf said. “Even through tanking, you’re not guaranteed to get a No. 1 pick who’s gonna be the best player in the league.”
“Who are the best players in the league right now? Nikola Jokic, second-round pick, Giannis (Antetokounmpo) wasn’t a Top 10 pick, Shai (Gilgeous-Alexander) wasn’t a Top 10 pick, even Luka (Doncic) was passed on by two teams.”

He went on, reiterating the value that the Warriors have in their hands and how they should take advantage of it.
“There’s a lot of luck involved in this. You happen to have Steph Curry. He’s a unicorn in NBA history. When you’re lucky enough to have one of those guys, you should make the most of it while you can.”
Golden State Warriors Trading for Jimmy Butler? “It’s Hard”
In one of the recent episodes of his podcast, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green discussed why rumors of a Jimmy Butler trade to the Bay Area is unlikely, as it would have the team let go of too many assets for one player.

“It’s hard to trade a guy that makes $52 million a year,” Green said about the topic. “For instance, if you look at our roster, say you want to trade for Jimmy with the least amount of players that you could on our roster. That means you’ve got to trade Jimmy straight up for Steph [Curry] or you have to trade Jimmy for me and [Andrew Wiggins]. I don’t think you’re going to do that, so now you start looking at you’ve got to trade like five guys for one guy.”
“It’s hard to trade, and another thing is, people don’t understand in this league when you start talking trades, great players don’t get traded. That just don’t happen. Like great players in their prime, you don’t get traded.”
Currently, the Golden State Warriors stand 11th in the Western Conference with 22-23.
