Things are starting to look good for the Memphis Grizzlies and one huge reason behind that is the return of big man Zach Edey. The 2024 ninth overall pick joined the team on November 12 after recovering from an ankle injury that ruled him out for the start of the season.

They incurred four successive loss in his return but things have turned around somehow for them in the last four games. Their last loss was against Western Conference giants Denver Nuggets. They then won the next which included victories against the Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans which went overtime, and Sacramento Kings.

This win streak coincided with Edey getting more minutes and making the most out of it with doubles doubles. He had three straight games with at least 15 rebounds.

Grizzlies met the Kings on Sunday and Edey made sure to impose his size by scoring his career high 32 points and 17 rebounds to lead his team to a win. This statline brought him into the same territory as Shaquille O’Neal and Hakeem Olajuwon.

Zach Edey becomes the youngest player since Shaq to have a game with:

Grizzlies are not having a great time with all the drama surrounding their team. Edey, alongside Cedric Coward, has the fans looking forward to the future with their incredible plays lately.
