Hailey Van Lith is ready to make a mark in the WNBA in his rookie season as she’s got her former collegiate teammate Angel Reese to guide her through the ropes now that she’s been drafted to the Chicago Sky.
Fresh from a season that saw her lead TCU to its first Big 12 Conference regular-season championship, Van Lith was selected 11th overall by the Sky in the 2025 WNBA draft on Monday in New York.
Apart from playing in her first professional season with Chicago Sky, the TCU guard shared that she’s looking forward to her reunion with Reese.
She said, “Angel has maintained contact with me… I really appreciate her. We have a very mature relationship… a mutual respect relationship…mostly I’m excited to be around her again. We have a lot of similarities on how we carry ourselves… she’s a dog. She turns up the intensity of everybody around her.”
Van Lith’s resume heading into the WNBA was a stacked one after spending three years with Louisville before a couple of stints with LSU and TCU. Throughout her collegiate career, she’s had 15.2 points, 4.41 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 42.2% on the field across 172 games.

Now, getting ready for her freshman year in the WNBA, Van Lith’s looking forward to helping the Sky reach the playoffs this year, a feat they failed to complete last season.
Angel Reese gets hyped ahead of reunion with Hailey Van Lith
Building a solid bond with Hailey Van Lith in her last season in the NCAA, Angel Reese is eager to getting back on the hardcourt with her former teammate with the TCU Horned Frogs.

After Chicago Sky drafted Van Lith as the 11th overall pick in this year’s WNBA draft, Reese expressed her excitement about being reunited with the two-time All-ACC First-Team.
“We ain’t do it right the first time. Let’s run it backkkkk🫣,” said Reese on her post on X, formerly Twitter.

Even Chicago Sky posted an old photo of the two on their social media with the caption, “#talksoon.”
As Reese gets set for her second season in the WNBA, Hailey Van Lith will be looking up to Reese in her rookie season while looking back on how they wrecked havoc in the NCAA with their deadly pick-and-roll plays.
