TCU Horned Frogs star guard Hailey Van Lith was celebrated and praised in a social media post, where her journey this season was described as her “redemption arc.”
In a post on Threads by Mariah Rose, daughter of former NBA star Jalen Rose, Hailey Van Lith’s journey was illustrated all the way from her roots to her “down” time and to her redemption arc this season.
Rose said in her post: “Whether you’re into sports or not, you HAVE to hear about Hailey Van Lith’s comeback story, because this girl SURVIVED the internet turning her into a MEME… and now she’s THRIVING.”
She initially gained prominence at Louisville, where she displayed immense talent but eventually transferred to LSU in hopes of furthering her career. However, her time at LSU was marked by challenges, as she struggled to regain her peak form. Seeking a fresh start, Van Lith made the bold decision to leave LSU and join the TCU Horned Frogs.

Hailey Van Lith Opens Up About Head Coach Mark Campbell
In a post-game press conference following their elimination loss against Texas, Hailey Van Lith opened up to the press about TCU head coach Mark Campbell, who she credited for “breathing life” into her.
“It’s hard for me to put into words, but my relationship with coach Mark has been a joy for me,” Van Lith said. “I’m sure I gave him a lot of headaches throughout the year. He just accepted me for who I was. He took me at face value.”
“He has just breathed life into me,” she added. “And from a life perspective, he’s taught me a lot of great lessons about how to have healthy relationships and what it takes to have a healthy relationship, and how much better life can be if you just let people see who you are. And that’s hard for me.”
“And so for me to feel comfortable and safe doing that with him, that took a lot of work on his part that he did not have to do. He could have told me to screw off when I was giving him problems. I’m forever grateful for him, and God put him in my life to transform it. And he certainly has done that.”

For the 2024-2025 season, Hailey Van Lith averaged 17.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game, while shooting 45.9% from the field. She also set TCU’s single-season records for points scored (663) and assists (202), earning accolades such as Big 12 Player of the Year, Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, and Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
