Atlanta Hawks and Trae Young are no more and one of the first thoughts people would want to hear should be from coach Quin Snyder. Young was the team’s star since 2018 and made them relevant for at least one season. He was traded on Wednesday to the Washington Wizards for CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert.

However, that’s not the case this time as Snyder, who came to Atlanta in 2023, refused to give the media any scoop.
“I know you all have questions for me that right now I’m not at liberty to talk about or answer,” he said unprompted after the team’s win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
He did praise the four-time All-Star for his state of mind and body language while on the injured bay that made him 22 games and six more after returning and playing five games.

Young was present in the game and was able to say his last goodbyes to the home fans.
While Snyder would rather stay off limits on the topic, Young’s teammates has nothing but sweet words for their veteran.

“When I first got here, he was one of the first guys that texted me, welcoming me to the city, gave me a lot of advice,” young power forward Mouhamed Gueye said.
“Obviously, playing with Trae, as a big, is like a dream come true. I love him as a guy, I love him as a teammate. … An Atlanta legend.”
Quin Snyder praises team for playing the right way
Snyder must be focusing on what his team recently accomplished rather than the trade. Hawks won a convincing one over the Pelicans and they needed it after losing the last two.
The coach was praiseful of the energy and praised them for finally playing to their system and potential.
“The team we went into the season with has not really been the team we’ve played… when your bench is selfless, it impacts the game and the group,” he said.

He also commended their 2024 no. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds.
“There’s lots of ways to impact the game… crashing on the offensive glass, defending, running. I love his aggressiveness.”
