Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra has had success with super teams but he got that, too, with a bunch of players comparable to a suicide squad. This coaching brilliance now got him the main job for Team USA. With second round draft picks and undrafted ones, he willed the team to two NBA finals appearances in the last five years.

His coaching style is a haven for those who don’t always get a chance and looks like another will have an opportunity of a lifetime for them. The Heat are missing their top scorer in Tyler Herro who had a foot surgery last September.
Herro’s 23.9 points per game will be hard to fill up but good thing for Miami, those who are left are working hard and one of those leading the way from the bench is Simone Fontecchio who they signed this summer.
The Italian small forward, undrafted in 2017, was signed this summer after they let go long-time designated shooter Duncan Robinson who is now with the Detroit Pistons. Robinson is not missed with Fontecchio’s performances.

The 29-year-old is currently averaging 13.7 points per game, converting eight three point shots from 16 attempts.
Erik Spoelstra praises Simone Fontecchio’s versatility
Robinson is a pure shooter but Fontecchio is different. Spoelstra thinks the Italian offers more.
“When you’re the number one option for your country, and you have pressure, you have to score 30 a game or you lose,” he said after their win over Eastern Conference favorites New York Knicks on Monday.

“You have to you have to be on, and you have to find ways to score in the margins, because teams are kind of scheme against you. He can spot up, he can play off for the catch. He can play off your better players. But he can also create.”
Heat will continue needing Fontechhio’s production as Herro won’t return until around December or January.
