Ja Morant returned from injury with a vintage performance in London. His brilliant 24 points and 13 assists pushed the Memphis Grizzlies to a convincing 126-109 W over the Orlando Magic.
But his dominant stat line got overshadowed by another controversial celebration. The two-time All-Star pulled out a bazooka gesture that rounded across social media.
Fans React to Ja Morant’s Bazooka Celebration in London
The Grizzlies destroyed the Magic at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday due to Moran’s explosiveness. It was very refreshing to see him shine in his first game back from a six-game absence.
Their domination against Magic was on point; they were 33 points ahead at one point of the game. Quite frankly, Magic’s fate was decided at that point since, at the other end, Morant was scoring without breaking a sweat.
Then came his controversial celebration that led to endless chatter online. Video captured Morant mimicking a bazooka gesture after a big play, with hard clapping on his chest. The gun-themed gesture looked identical to his previous weapon celebrations.
Social media erupted immediately because the 25-year-old served a 25-game NBA suspension in 2023 for flashing guns on Instagram Live twice. He lost millions in endorsements. He even underwent counseling.

So, given the suspension history, fans showed zero patience for Morant’s latest antics, and now he is facing backlash for his lunacy.
One fan questioned, “What is this man’s problem.”
A second added, “Mf can’t go without pulling a gun.”
The third begged, “Just play basketball bro damn.”
A fourth one demanded, “Fine this thug.”
The fifth noted remarked, “Bro’s in London so he thinks he got a pass”
A sixth penned, “This guys only highlights from here on out are only gonna be what new weapon he pulls out for his celly.”
A random X user joked, “When is bro gon pull out the B-2 bomber.”
Morant’s inability to read the room continues costing him reputation and respect and talking about fans, they exhausted their patience long ago.
The bazooka gesture wasn’t cute or funny. Under the NBA rulebook, it’s considered violent. It’s too early to know whether the league will discipline him, but fans can now only keep their fingers crossed so that nothing very bad happens.
