Isiah Thomas dropped the ultimate stamp of approval on Stephen Curry amid trade rumors and constant noise around Golden State Warriors.

The hoop icon heaped praise on the Warriors superstar Monday night during NBC’s broadcast following Golden State’s 103-102 loss to Los Angeles Clippers. Thomas called Curry the complete package as a professional, entering January riding a four-game skid before the Clippers’ heartbreaker extended their road misery to eight straight losses in LA.
Isiah Thomas Says No Player Gives Fans More Than Stephen Curry
Thomas waxed poetic about Curry’s professionalism during the postgame coverage.
The Bad Boy Pistons legend rarely praises modern stars, but Curry at 37 is different. Zeke broke down exactly why the greatest three-point shooter stands above the rest as the ultimate role model for the next generation.
“We have been so lucky in this era to watch him play, but also to watch him lead in the player and the professional that he’s been,” Zeke said on “NBA Showtime.”

Thomas emphasized Curry’s consistency and dedication to the fans every single night. There are no off nights and no going through the motions. Regardless of the situation, Curry is always ready to perform.
“There’s not been one night that he’s put on a jersey and the fans didn’t get their money’s worth,” Zeke continued. “And he gives them a pre-game show, he gives them an in-game show, and then after the game, he’s so generous with his time.”
The two-time champion then crowned Warriors’ captain as everything the league wants its superstars to represent on and off the floor.
“I mean, as a role model, as a pro, as a champion, as a Hall of Famer, as an athlete, he is everything that we always wanted all players to represent,” Zeke stressed. “Steph Curry, number 30 champion Hall of Famer, hey, he’s the one.”
Curry scored 27 points in Monday’s loss but fouled out for the first time since December 2021. He’s averaging 28.7 points through 27 games this season while shooting 39.2 percent from three.
The Warriors are eighth in the West at 18–16, despite internal tension over Jonathan Kuminga’s limited playing time and Draymond Green’s strained relationship with coach Steve Kerr, which has led fans to call for a trade.
Thomas previously stated he considers himself and Curry the only championship-winning small guards in league history who truly dominated at their size.
Isiah Thomas Puts Himself and Stephen Curry Alone as Small Guard Champions
Zeke doubled down on his respect for Curry in a separate interview about the greatest small guards ever.
The Detroit legend argued that size matters when evaluating point guard greatness. Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson get excluded from the conversation because they played the position at 6-foot-9 and 6-foot-5 respectively.
\”To me, at his size, what he’s been able to do in the game and when, you know, cause there have been a lot of great players our size, but he and I are the only ones that can say that we won,” Thomas remarked.
Thomas won back-to-back championships with the Pistons in 1989 and 1990. Curry has four rings with the Warriors from their dynasty years. Their respect for each other feels really very genuine.
