The Houston Rockets extended their winning streak to four games, following a 120-96 road victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night. All five starters scored in double figures, with Amen Thompson leading the way.
Thompson had 23 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals on 10-for-12 shooting from the field across 32 minutes of action. The former fourth overall pick, who’s averaging a career-high 18.0 points per game this season, has scored at least 20 points in 10 of his past 18 matches.
“It means a lot,” Thompson said of his behind-the-scenes work bearing fruit during his postgame interview. “Imma keep shooting regardless of if it goes in, and I know the work I put in.”
“He’s just putting it together on both ends of the floor,” Kevin Durant said of Thompson via the Houston Chronicle. “Figuring out the best way to be effective for him. Even knocked down a 3-pointer, knocking down his middies. That confidence level that he’s playing with right now, we’re going to need to bottle that up and bring it to the next game.”

Houston Rockets News: Kevin Durant reaches season-high in assists vs. Brooklyn Nets
Kevin Durant was among the Houston Rockets’ top scorers against the Brooklyn Nets. The 37-year-old swingman had 22 points, five rebounds, and a season-high 11 assists on 8-for-15 shooting from the field across 37 minutes of action.
“I just try to play the game the right way and not try to force too much,” Durant said. “Sometimes I do, but I felt tonight they made a conscious effort to get the ball out of my hands, so I was trying to be as efficient as possible.”
“When teams double Alpi and Kevin, if we get to our space and get to our spots and are very decisive with our action behind it, we look good,” head coach Ime Udoka explained. “We’ve got quite a bit of practice with it and tonight was a good night as far as that.”
