After averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks on 53/43/84 shooting splits across 62 regular season games last season for the Phoenix Suns, Kevin Durant will bring his free-scoring ways to the Houston Rockets.

Speaking at an event sponsored by his company, Boardroom, Durant was asked whether he’s keen to add to his gold medal tally by playing for Team USA in 2028. The Houston Rockets forward hints at an Olympic return, but there’s a catch.
“Yeah, (I’d want to join) if I’m still me. I don’t wanna be the veteran like ‘come sit on the bench and get your fifth,” Durant stated via The Athletic’s Law Murray.

Durant will be entering his 40s in 2028, and it’ll be interesting to see if he can still play at a high level by then. Right now, the 15-time NBA All-Star is focused on winning his third Larry O’Brien trophy with the Houston Rockets this upcoming season.
Houston Rockets News: Former NBA star has bold prediction on Kevin Durant’s fit with the team
Byron Scott has high hopes for the Houston Rockets after they acquired Kevin Durant this summer via a historic seven-team deal. According to the three-time NBA champion, Durant is a better fit in Houston than in Phoenix.

“We all know that talent isn’t everything. Having great talent doesn’t mean you’re going to have a great basketball team. Chemistry and camaraderie are so important in sports. And I think with this Houston team, he’ll have better chemistry and camaraderie with these guys because these guys are looking up to him,” Scott said on the Fast Break podcast.
“They respect him. They expect him to come in and be like their — I wouldn’t say savior — but be that missing piece. You know, in Phoenix, you had Bradley (Beal) who was like, “I’m the ( __ ),” you know? You had Devin Booker, “I’m the ( __ ),” you know? So I don’t think they had a good fit in Phoenix. It was very talented, but fit-wise, it just wasn’t a good fit in Phoenix,” he added.
