The Houston Rockets fell to 0-2 following their 115-111 defeat against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, and Kevin Durant shared that the players and coaches are “pissed off” at their current predicament. According to the former league MVP, this is a good thing for the team.

“Coaching staff is pissed off, players are pissed off,” Durant said via ESPN’s DJ Bien-Aime. “We want a better outcome, and it’s early, too. So for us to feel that way, I like that kind of energy.”
“Just feel like we haven’t played a good game yet,” Amen Thompson added. “It’s been two close games. We can’t keep saying that all the time. We want to play great games. We have championship-level expectations. So just trying to play our best game every game. Bad games happen, but we are still trying to win those.”

Durant was the bright spot for the Houston Rockets last night, as he dropped 37 points, three rebounds, and three steals on 9-for-18 shooting from the field and 16-for-18 from the free throw line. Alperen Sengun, Steven Adams, Jabari Smith Jr., Josh Okogie, and Amen Thompson added 17, 11, 11, 10, and 10 points.
Houston Rockets fans react to the team’s latest loss
Kevin Durant did his best by scoring 14 of his 37 points in the final period against the Detroit Pistons. However, no other Houston Rockets player scored more than three. Fans quickly pointed to the loss of Fred VanVleet as one of the key reasons for the team’s slow start.

“Yeah Amen is a problem. People want to hand him the crown. He’s ass in the halfcourt. We need Jrue holiday and someone who can knock down 3s. Same issues man,” a fan stated on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“If you keep playing a double big with 2 bigs who cant shoot spacing will always be an issue.”
“Sengun shouldn’t be your PG. Too slow. Spacing is bad. They dont run offensive sets. Gonna be a long season.”
That’s what teams looks like without a true floor general,” another fan said.
