Former Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley has remained unsigned with an NBA team. He hasn’t played in the league since the 2023-24 season. During the previous campaign, he spent time playing in Israel for Hapoel Tel Aviv of the Ligat HaAl. The last team he played for in the NBA was the Milwaukee Bucks, where he appeared in 26 games.
This offseason, Beverley hoped to sign with a team looking for veteran guidance. The two-way guard provides intelligence on the defensive end and effort off the bench. He’s also played for several other teams as an energy guy off the bench. Even with that experience, Pat Bev hasn’t been offered a contract by any organization.
The seasoned guard most recently made an appearance in the well-known Twitch broadcaster N3on’s live stream. During his appearance, he revealed that he had been working out with the Rockets. Beverley also informed the content creator that due to contract restrictions, he was on the verge of receiving a deal from the organization.

“I was this close to signing with the Rockets,” said Beverley. “I’ve been in Houston working out with the Rockets for the last two, three weeks.
“I was really close but with the [salary] cap, they don’t have a lot of space. Which means, they can’t really guarantee because I think they’re [in the ] first apron. But I was really, really close.”
It could have been a reunion for the Houston Rockets and Beverley. The defensive guard played for the franchise for five seasons, from 2012 to 2017. During that span, he averaged 9.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists, asserting himself as one of the best defensive guards.
Houston Rockets youngster projected to be a future Hall of Fame player

Amen Thompson has started to show signs of stardom in his second year in the NBA. During his sophomore year, he averaged 14.1 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists on 55.7% shooting from the field. Thompson also finished in the top 5 of the Defensive Player of the Year and was part of the All-Defensive First Team.
The future is looking bright for the Houston Rockets forward. ESPN recently published a list of current and upcoming stars to have a Hall of Fame career. Thompson was among the list of young stars like Tyrese Haliburton, LaMelo Ball, Ja Morant and his teammate Alperen Sengun.
The most notable aspect is that Thompson is the only player who has not been named an All-Star, along with Stephon Castle, Chet Holmgren, and Cooper Flagg. But ESPN believes they have what it takes to be superstars in the NBA.
