“If we were the same age, I don’t believe LeBron would have had 4 championships”: Paul Pierce on LeBron

Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce is not afraid to speak his opinion when it comes to Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James. They have been in heated battles against each other in the playoffs.

Paul Pierce on LeBron: “If we were the same age, I don’t believe LeBron would have had 4 championships. LeBron wouldn’t have gotten those 2 in Miami. If we’re the same age, I can offset him.”

The 2013 Celtics, all aged 33, managed to compete in a seven-game series against a healthy, prime Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. They would likely be considered favorites if a 26-year-old Paul Pierce were to appear instead of the 33-year-old version.

When Pierce was younger in 08, he withstood LeBron dropping 45 and won game 7 for Boston. He’s correct in saying that if he were younger in 2012, he would counteract Lebron dropping 45 in Game 6.

He might sound nuts to most people, but there is an alternative universe where prime Paul Pierce on those Celtics teams gets in the way of at least one of those rings. The Celtics did beat LeBron’s Cavaliers in 2008 and 2010.

Paul is right in some ways. He did go toe to toe with Bron, for sure, and he got the best of him a lot of times. The thing he’s forgetting is that his Celtics teams weren’t doing much before he got Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. Everyone needs help.
