Anthony Edwards hit 10,000 career points during the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 131–122 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Target Center. The milestone made Edwards the third-youngest player in NBA history to reach the mark. He passed Kobe Bryant in the process.

Edwards hit the feat at 24 years and 156 days old. Only LeBron James at 23 years and 59 days and Kevin Durant at 24 years and 33 days reached 10,000 points at a younger age. Initially, Bryant was in third place after reaching the milestone at 24 years and 193 days in March 2003.

Anthony Edwards Hit Milestone on Fourth-Quarter Jumper, But Reaction Felt Otherwise

The moment happened late in the fourth quarter. Interestingly, the champ showed no visible reaction during the game. He ran back on defense following the basket. After the match, Edwards addressed the milestone moment during his post-game media availability.

“It’s cool, but I know I got a lot more to go, so it’s really nothing for real.”

When explicitly asked about passing Bryant on the list, Edwards sounds off:

“Yeah, I’m kinda sick that I got it in front of Kobe. I wish I had waited like 100 days.”

Twenty-five points came from Edwards by night’s end, alongside nine assists and seven boards in 37 minutes of play. His shooting eye found the mark on 10 of 20 tries overall, with four deep shots landing out of seven attempts. Victory marked number four straight for Minnesota, now sitting at 25 wins and 13 losses this season, according to PFSN. Still fourth, they sit in the West, just half a game trailing Denver’s pace.

One moment, Ant-Man wasn’t even close – now he’s climbed into rare air. His 10,000th point arrived during game number 412. That pace puts him at 28th overall when counting how fast players hit that mark. Currently, only a handful stand ahead: Luka Dončić made it quicker. So did LeBron James and Joel Embiid get there faster, too. Then there’s Kevin Durant, Trae Young, and Donovan Mitchell – all before him.

As the video went viral, many fans reacted:

A folk said, “Doesn’t being second to two people make you third? 🤣”

Another person chimes in, “All you can do is keep rolling.”

Another one said, “That Kobe line says everything about Ant’s mentality. Real ones know 💜🐍.”

    One more person said, “He’s a soon-to-be GOAT 🤜.”

Another said, “There’s the difference between him and Kobe. Because Kobe wouldn’t give AF abt who he just passed. How abt just go be great, stop worrying abt any other mf u gotta pass.”

No matter what, Edward has etched his name among the most elite athletes in the NBA realms. He has led the T-Wolves in scoring this season and remains the focal point of their offense.
