Former Cleveland Cavaliers Iman Shumpert recently secured a win against his former wife, in light of her violating the terms of their divorce. Shumpert’s ex-wife was slapped with a fine of $70,000 due to this.
Teyana Taylor, ex-wife of NBA star Iman Shumpert, has been ordered by Georgia’s Fulton County Superior Court to pay her ex-husband, former NBA star Iman Shumpert, $70,000 in attorney fees after being held in contempt for breaching the confidentiality terms of their 2024 divorce agreement.

Both Taylor and Shumpert accused one another of leaking settlement details to entertainment blogs, but the judge ultimately found that Taylor disclosed prohibited “summaries, abstracts, portions and descriptions” of their final judgment, triggering the financial penalty.
Court documents show that Taylor initially sought to have Shumpert cover her legal costs, but her motion was denied when she failed to provide proof of her income and assets. The court highlighted Taylor’s recent work—including roles in three films since the divorce was finalized and a forthcoming television series—as evidence of her ability to satisfy the fee award.
The dispute reached its peak in March 2025, when confidential terms from their settlement appeared online, prompting Shumpert’s contempt filings and the subsequent ruling against Taylor.

Taylor and Shumpert, who wed in 2016 and share two children—Iman “Junie” Tayla, 9, and Rue Rose, 4—publicly announced their separation in 2023 and finalized their divorce in July 2024. Their high-profile relationship, which included Taylor’s candid confirmation on The Wendy Williams Show and a joint appearance in Kanye West’s “Fade” music video, has since played out amid legal wrangling.
Iman Shumpert Ex-Wife Says Her “Grind is Different”
Teyana Taylor, the 34-year-old singer and actress, told InStyle that welcoming her two daughters, Rue Rose and Iman “Junie” Tayla, forced her to reevaluate her career ambitions.
Having retired from music in December 2020, Taylor said motherhood altered her tolerance and shifted her focus toward projects that allow her to give back, explaining that her “grind is different” now as she pours her energy into acting and helping others.

Earlier this month, Taylor stepped out with her girls for a rare visit to the SiriusXM Studio in New York, where she marveled at how fast they’re growing, especially her youngest, who has “a lot to say,” according to her.
Although she filed for divorce from ex-husband Iman Shumpert in 2023, Taylor stressed that they remain “friends” and effective co-parents to their children.
