Indiana Fever are seeing a pretty tough opponent in the Las Vegas Aces, as both teams battle it out to score a post in the finals to win the WNBA championship. The Fever managed to win Game 1 but ended up losing Game 2 and that too, with quite a large margin.
According to analysts who are keeping close tabs on the team, Indiana’s strongest scorer, Kelsey Mitchell, is facing personal attacks from the Aces. This has limited the team’s offense which led to the Fever losing with an embarrassing 90-68 final score. Mitchell only managed 13 points in Game 2, with a single board and five helpers. Meanwhile, Odyssey Sims led the team’s offense with 18 points on the scoreboard with seven assists.

“If the Aces can swarm Kelsey Mitchell and get the ball out of her hands the Fever don’t have enough firepower to keep up,” WNBA analyst Robin Lundberg tweeted from his X account about the Las Vegas Aces and Kelsey Mitchell.
“Didn’t get to zoom questions tonight so I didn’t get to ask about it, but it felt like Vegas was more intentional about forcing Kelsey Mitchell ball screens down the sideline tonight compared to game 1. Looking it up: Mitchell saw “ICE” coverage 5 times in G1, 10 times in G2.” Analyst Nekias Duncan echoed in another tweet on X.

While the Indiana Fever struggled to score, the Aces lit up the scoreboard with A’ja Wilson leading the way with a whopping 25 points. NaLyssa Smith added another 18, while Jackie Young managed to contribute 13 points to the team’s total.
Indiana Fever Fans Still Hope For Caitlin Clark To Return
With Indiana Fever clearly struggling like a fish out of water, fans are leaning on to hope that their superstar Caitlin Clark magically returns for the playoffs. While Fever fans can hope and pray all they want, Clark will definitely not be returning for the playoffs.

“I had hoped to share a better update, but I will not be returning to play this season. I spent hours in the gym every day with the singular goal of getting back out there, disappointed isn’t a big enough word to describe how I am feeling.” Caitlin Clark announced a few weeks back.

While she may be out of the season and will definitely not be seen in the postseason, Caitlin Clark continues to rev up her team from the sidelines. Clark can be seen boosting her teammates from outside the court, while also giving valuable advice which has helped her team win many games in the past.
