Things have not been well for the Los Angeles Clippers. Due to their inability to compete, the team finished the 2025–26 NBA season with a 7–21 record. Amid the tough times that they’ve gone through, trade rumors have circulated about the team. They also got dismal news on Ivica Zubac, their starting center.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that LA’s big man will miss several weeks due to an ankle sprain. Zubac is an important player for the team as he anchors their defense and clears the boards in every game. The Croatian star has appeared in 28 games, averaging 15.6 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
On Saturday against the Los Angeles Lakers, the big man rolled his ankle. He had no choice but to exit the game and head to the locker room. Zubac did not return to action, only logging 10 minutes of action with five points and two rebounds.
The big man has been a consistent presence for the Clippers, playing every game of the season. However, that changes with the new injury he sustained. League insider Tomer Azarly reported that Zubac will miss at least three weeks of action.
LeBron James did not address the Clippers’ decision to part ways with Chris Paul

The Clippers have different plans ahead, which is why they’ve parted ways with veteran guard Chris Paul. However, it came as a surprise to every NBA fan. The shock was because of Paul’s history with the franchise. Before he rejoined the team over the summer, he had already established himself as one of the most influential players the organization has had.
Following the Saturday game between the two LA teams, LeBron James declined to comment on what happened.
“It’s not for me to comment on, to be honest. It’s none of my business,” James said.
Paul is one of James’ close friends in the NBA, but was firm in not making any comment about it.
He played for LA from 2011 to 2017 and consistently led the team to the postseason. He was also the engine behind the Lob City group with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. With that, no one thought they’d part ways with Paul, who’s in the middle of his farewell tour.
CP3 averaged 18.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 9.6 assists during his time with the franchise.
