Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant could be on his way out of the franchise soon. There have been reports that the Grizzlies have been open to trade discussions regarding the two-time All-Star. The Miami Heat is the squad that has been connected to the talented guard. The Miami Herald’s Anthony Chiang reported that the two organizations had begun discussing a possible agreement.
The Heat needs a facilitator and the most available is the former Murray State University guard. The trade market for elite playmakers became smaller after the Atlanta Hawks traded Trae Young to the Washington Wizards. The Grizzlies, meanwhile, are ready to move on from Morant, as he’s having one of the worst seasons of his career.

Chiang reported that the trade talks between the Heat and Grizzlies about Ja Morant are still in the early stages.
“There have been preliminary discussions between the Heat and Grizzlies regarding Morant’s availability, according to a league source. Those talks have not yet escalated and a deal is not imminent, with a source characterizing the Heat’s link to Morant as ‘premature.'” Chiang wrote.

Miami has become a preferred destination for the star guard. According to a report from Kelly Iko of Yahoo! Sports, Morant has a deep respect for Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. One of the key reasons the NBA star finds the squad so appealing is the team’s veteran presence.
Morant has appeared in 18 games this season, averaging 19.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 7.6 assists. He hasn’t had the best relationship with Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo, which led to a one-game suspension in November.
Ja Morant reportedly buys a new home in Miami amid trade rumors

Ja Morant reportedly purchased a house in Miami, according to Lucas Finton and Damichael Cole of the Memphis Commercial Appeal. On December 23, the Grizzlies star was named as an executor of a trust that bought a $3.2 million house in Miami-Dade County. Furthermore, the Kaseya Center is 20 minutes away from the acquired home, which is stated as being four miles away.
After the report, fans started to speculate about a potential trade.
“It’s only 20 minutes from the arena 👀 ” a fan said.
“His home is only 20 mins away from the Heat arena,” another fan commented.
“Yeah he’s getting packed up,” one fan said.
“They bout to ship him to the Bucks now” someone commented.
“Imagine he gets traded somewhere else 💀” a comment read.
“Ok cool. Get ready to learn Sacramento buddy. 😂” a fan joked.
