Ja Morant’s numbers this season are way off compared to his last one and things are not getting better for him. The Memphis Grizzlies star has been listed as a out for the next two weeks after suffering an injury in their last game which was against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Grizzlies say star guard Ja Morant will be re-evaluated in two weeks due to a Grade 1 right calf strain.

Morant has been under fire this season as his team struggle to put up successive wins. First, there was the time he was suspended for comments detrimental to the team. He aired his disappointment over coach Tuomas Iisalo’s rotation, prompting critics to think that he is not happy anymore.
His poor shooting also came to surface although he insisted that he is not worried about it.

“That’s why I don’t get too frustrated because I be in this arena,” Morant told reporters after their loss to OKC Thunder on November 9.
“I be in the practice gym doing the same thing. Right now, it’s just continuing to shoot, continuing to shoot with confidence and wait for it to translate over.”
How Grizzlies will address Ja Morant’s absence
Morant may be struggling in scoring but he is still the most important player in the team. That’s how Iisalo sees it and so, he is issuing a challenge to the remaining players.
“We’re going to have to find other ways of advantage creation with other players, because Ja obviously plays a huge part in that,”Iisalo during Monday.

“We’re going to have to rely on the team’s reactions, everybody doing their part and finding ways to score in the halfcourt and in transition now that we’ll have bigger guards.”
Grizzlies now has five point guards on the injury bay with second and third stringers Ty Jerome and Scotty Pippen Jr. still far away from returning.
To address PG problem, the team signed 2025 59th pick Jahmai Mashack to a two-way deal.
