“You Would Do Some Good Work Out There” – Jaren Jackson Jr. Says the 2022 Grizzlies Team Will Beat the 2012 Team

Memphis Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson Jr. believes the 2022 roster can take on the 2012 team in a best-of-seven series. Jackson claims he has faith in his team’s 2022 skill and that they may defeat the Grit and Grind Grizzlies.

Former Grizzlies players Tony Allen and Zach Randolph presented the “Out the Mud” podcast on Thursday, where Jackson made an appearance as a guest. Allen questioned the current Memphis star about his prediction for the winner of a postseason series. The 2022 roster, which included Jackson, Ja Morant, Steven Adams, Dillon Brooks, and Desmond Bane, was mentioned by The Grindfather.

The opponent that Allen thought of was his 2012 Memphis team that featured himself, Randolph, Rudy Gay, Mike Conley and Marc Gasol.

“Best out of seven?” Jackson said.

The 2022-23 Defensive Player of the Year asked which era they’ll play in. According to Allen, they’ll use the rules during the 2012 era, which features more physicality. But even with that, Jackson believes they’ll outperform the older team in a best-of-seven series.

“Y’all literally foul so much that they realize they can’t call that many fouls. So they just let y’all foul. Y’all just checking every time. I think you would do some good work out there, 4-1… You would win one game.”

“Pick a game you wanna win… We’ll probably go 3-0 andmaybe I’ll go crazy in that fourth game, push it to Game 5.”

Jackson was a bit generous later on and told the former players that they’d probably win two games against the much younger team.

The 2022 team had a 56-26 record and finished third in the Western Conference standings. The 2012 team, on the other hand, finished with a 41-25 record.

Throughout sports history, there have been plenty of memorable jerseys. One jersey that stands out for Jaren Jackson Jr., however, is the Vancouver Grizzlies jersey from his team. According to Jackson, nothing tops the way the jersey was designed.

“Any of the Vancouver, that’s the toughest jersey in sports.”

“They’re so fire, the teal, you can’t go wrong. The white, the black. They’re just that fire… Pick your poison. It’s really the hardest jersey in sports. I’m not even being biased. I think I would say that if I didn’t live here.”

Jackson did note that the team does not have the right to wear the jersey, so there are still problems with it.
The one-time All-Star pointed out that the team can only wear the jersey every other year.
