Jason Kidd earlier this decision decided to play Cooper Flagg at the point guard position and it was met with criticisms, especially because the 2025 top pick had difficulty adjusting. It’s been months since the experiment occurred and many think it bore fruit for the young Dallas Mavericks player.
An NBA coach even thought Flagg’s passing game is being underrated.
A reporter decided to bring up the criticisms again on a game that Mavs lost a close one against the Houston Rockets and the Mavs coach appeared to be not in the mood in entertaining such take.
“Criticism? That’s your opinion. You guys write that bullshit. That’s not — I’ve done this. I’ve played this game. I played it. I know what the fuck I’m doing,” he said face to face to the reporter who was identified as Ron Harrod Jr. of DLSS Sports.
“I don’t give a fuck what you guys write because you guys have never played the game. I build players, so I know what the fuck I’m doing. So if I take criticism, it only makes me better, because if I wasn’t doing it right, you guys wouldn’t be poking holes in what I’ve done.”
A visibly upset Kidd called for the next question but then he immediately stand up, ending the presser.
What makes Jason Kidd livid?
Kidd’s frustration in the loss might have extended to the press conference and that reporter just happen to catch him in a bad mood.
His team lost by just four points to the Rockets in a game filled with inconsistent calls. One play that got the NBA champion angry was the non-call on Flagg.
The rookie, just like in the loss to the Charlotte Hornets two days ago, had the chance to win it for the team but the referees did not blow their whistle.
Jason Kidd was livid during his postgame presser. He thought Cooper Flagg was fouled on this layup attempt.
