Jason Whitlock has always been notorious for his no-nonsense conservative opinions, especially about the WNBA, but he also doesn’t hold back on making funny comments. This weekend, Whitlock got into a casual banter with the Indiana Fever’s Aari McDonald after claiming she was wearing a wig during games, which McDonald fiercely responded to.

On his X/Twitter, Jason Whitlock asked users, “Any female WNBA fans give me an opinion on Aari McDonalds wig? Looks crazy to me. But I’m no expert.” However, fans didn’t exactly like this, telling the “Fearless” show host to focus on McDonald’s impressive showcases on the court instead.

McDonald didn’t let go of Whitlock’s remark. She ended the exchange by mentioning one of the analyst’s fiercest rivals, Stephen A. Smith.
“LOL I usually don’t respond to foolishness like this, but I couldn’t help myself this time,” McDonald tweeted. “You’re very lame for commenting on a woman’s appearance and for your information it’s not a wig. Don’t make me get @stephenasmith. Stay blessed.”

Jason Whitlock, cornered with McDonald’s response, apologized to her and tweeted: “Great victory.” He knew that an online brawl with Stephen A. Smith, even slight, isn’t something everyone wants. The two once worked together at ESPN, albeit filled with heavy controversies that caused them to become one of the sharpest in sports media. In other words, McDonald wasn’t kidding when she said she can call on Smith.
I’m sorry, Aari. I sincerely apologize. Great victory. https://t.co/z0EVbwpafZ

Jason Whitlock claims McDonald’s teammate as WNBA’s Lifeline
Nothing had kept Jason Whitlock from scrutinizing the Indiana Fever this season, especially their star, Caitlin Clark. However, despite Clark being sidelined due to a groin injury, the Fever remains alive and breathing. This led Whitlock to make a daunting realization on X/Twitter last week.
“Clark can save the WNBA,” Whitlock wrote. “She can help the Fever win a title. There’s a difference. Fever don’t need a savior. WNBA does.”

“Great victory for my Fever,” Whitlock added on another post. “I love Caitlin Clark. She’s great. I hope she’s watching and learning. Poorly officiated game. No excessive whining. Mitchell off night. Doesn’t force offense. Defense powers offense. Fever can win title this year if Caitlin tweaks her approach.”

Jason Whitlock has always been a fierce defender of Clark since the beginning of her pro career in the WNBA. He never hesitated to point out how the infamous Caitlin Clark effect has deeply changed the WNBA, and called out critics who say otherwise. However, Whitlock, as a devoted fan of Clark, also didn’t shy away from criticizing the star guard at times.
