Boston Celtics are probably the most surprising this season as they remain a formidable opponent in the Eastern Conference despite the restructuring they did over the summer and the injury to their superstar Jayson Tatum. Driving force behind this is Jaylen Brown who is playing with a chip on his shoulder.

Tatum is regarded as the 1A in the Celtics while Brown is the 1B. Many were even surprised that it was JB who won the 2024 MVP over Tatum who is still recovering from ACL injury.
Brown is not deaf to not hear the criticisms and admits that he is extra motivated this season because of the doubts.
“I take everything personally, lowkey. I’m always looking for something. But yeah, I felt like I’ve sacrificed over the years in order for us to be a championship-caliber team,” he said after their Monday win over the Portland Traillazers at TD Garden.
“And I think now, we’re getting to see that a little bit. What exactly I was capable of, and what I was sacrificing. I think, before, maybe it wasn’t so obvious. I think now, being able to be at the helm of things, and us being the second seed in the east, versus last year we finished second seed in the east. It’s almost been no drop off with four players, five players that are essentially gone.”

Jaylen Brown’s MVP form
Celtics’ latest win solidified their hold of the no. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference, overtaking the New York Knicks who have been struggling since their NBA Cup win.
Brown must be feeling good right now as the league and fans are taking notice by making him the starter for next month’s All-Star Game. He will be Team World’s lone forward.

Kia MVP Ladder also honors his current run by placing him 6th in the latest ranking although some analysts argue that he should be a frontliner for what he is doing as a long star for the Celtics.
Brown currently averages 29.6 points, a massive leap from his 22.2 PPG the season before.
