Jaylen Brown is having a career season with Jayson Tatum out for Boston Celtics. Nobody expects them to be winning a lot with such handicap but they do and it is all thanks to JB who is averaging 29.5 points from 22 from last season.

Celtics remaining a contender with him as the lone star is enough for Jeff Teague to put him above Los Angeles Lakers star and Top 3 MVP contender Luka Doncic. The one-time Celtics player and one-time NBA champion made the statement while discussing who deserves First Team All-NBA this season.
“I’m gonna take him over [Doncic], bro. Their team so bad,” Teague said in the Club 520 podcast.
“You lose arguably your best player. You lose your staring center. Both of them – Al Horford and [Kristaps] Porzingis. Jrue Holiday left, you lose your starting point guard.”
His co-host contested his take saying Luka is just better than Brown, most especially on the offense side of the game. The host brought up Doncic’s time with Mavericks and how he has been ‘killing’ for them all alone while Brown always had Tatum.
Teague drove down his point about head-to-head between JB and Luka by bringing up the time they played for the most important reward.

“I’m picking (Jaylen Brown) over Luka… who they play in the finals? Who won Finals MVP?”
Brown has been carrying the Celtics and recently made franchise history, surpassing Larry Bird.

Jaylen Brown vs Luka Doncic
Doncic has been the Batman since starting in the NBA in 2018 while Brown’s role is being reduced to a second star behind JT.
That changed this season and Brown has been proving well that he can carry a team. Celtics are currently the third best team in the league with a 20-12 record. He scored above 30 points 11 times out of their last 13 games.
Jaylen Brown over the last 10 games:
31.7 PPG
6.5 RPG
5.4 APG
53.8% FG
42.6% 3P

As for Luka, he has higher averages. He is currently the league’s top scorer with 33.7 while also averaging 8.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists. His team has a better record than the Celtics at 20-11.
Teague’s opinion might have been influenced by the way things are going for Brown’s and Doncic’s team. Lakers are 4-6 in the last 10 and suffered three straight losses while Celtics are 7-3 in the same span and recorded four-game winning streak while Lakers were struggling.
