Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown has been balling out during the 2025-26 NBA season. Without the team’s No.1 option, Jayson Tatum, Brown has the green light to take over the team on offense. Tatum’s absence has also allowed him to be a leader on the court.

Brown has appeared in 27 points, averaging a career-high 29.4 points. He’s also putting up 6.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists. The 2024 Finals MVP has taken a step forward in the Celtics’ offense, doing most of the things that the team needs from him. Additionally, Boston is third in the Eastern Conference with an 18-11 record.

During his most recent livestream session, the four-time All-Star did not hesitate to claim that he’s the best player in the league.

“I don’t care who you say right now, ain’t nobody doing it better than me right now,” Jaylen Brown said.

In the last 11 games he’s played in, there was only one game where he scored below 20 points. In the other 10 contests, Brown displayed an outstanding brand of basketball and scored at least 30 points. He averaged 32.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists during that stretch.

The Boston Celtics almost suffered a loss against the Indiana Pacers on Monday. In the third quarter, things weren’t looking good for the Celtics, as they were down by 20 points. Coach Joe Mazzulla didn’t like how the team’s starting lineup played and sat them in the second half. As a result, Boston’s second unit closed the gap, and it led to a 103-95 win.

Following the game, Jaylen Brown expressed his frustration over getting benched. However, he was appreciative of how the backups played.

“To be honest, I was, I was (expletive). You know what I mean?” Brown said. “I was ready to play so I didn’t know. It felt like we were mailing it in. It was only three minutes in (to the second half), but we trust our coaching staff, so it was the right decision. That second group is the reason why we won the game. (Luka) Garza, Sam (Hauser), Hugo (Gonzalez). Like, we won tonight, but it was because of those guys. So it was a great call by Joe.”

Brown finished with 31 points and nine rebounds and only played 15 minutes in the second half.
