People came after Jaylen Brown two weeks for what they perceived was an inappropriate comment about Scottie Barnes after his Boston Celtics beat the latter’s Toronto Raptors.

He made the comment while recalling in his livestream his head to head with the 2022 Rookie of the Year, suggesting Barnes is a strong guy. However, the words he used was deemed politically incorrect.
“That motherf*cker got that extra chromosome strength,” he said.
“He’s like a ninja turtle or something. My boy was strong as hell.”
“Scottie Barnes is strong… he got that extra chromosome strength.”

NBA X were instantly on his case for these comments. Some said he crossed some line.

Jaylen Brown apologizes to Scottie Barnes
Barnes has been receiving comments about him being on the autism spectrum. These are comments from internet people who’s only goal is to disrespect the Raptors star.
Brown’s comment was on the nose but he insisted that he is not aware of such comments about Barnes. And so, he is apologizing now and will do that once they cross paths again.
“I didn’t know that was a thing in terms of Scottie. I said the comments, but I didn’t know that’s something people had already been teasing him about,” he said via the White Noise Podcast.
““I will apologize for adding to the fire of something I wasn’t aware of. When I see Scottie, I’ll let him know as well.”
He also said that his remark was more of a praise, comparing his strength to that of Superman or Hulk.

“When I made the comment I was trying to give him a compliment on how strong he was. When I said extra chromosome people looked at it as negative but I was thinking Superman, Incredible Hulk… An extra chromosome would be something that’d be a benefit.”
