Kyle Kuzma said that a month ago that getting to the NBA is like belonging to 1 percent. It’s a league of the elite. What does it take to become an NBA? Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown put forward that might sound controversial. The notion was that to make it to the world’s best basketball league, you have to be talented.

That’s not the case now according to him.
“That might sound crazy, but it’s not. The game has changed,” he said in his Youtube channel.
” In the ‘90s and 2000s? The best players in the world were in the league. But now? In the 2020s? That’s no longer the case. I do not believe all the best players are in the NBA.”
He continued that this is because talent is no longer the only thing that matters to crack a roster.
“Of course, basketball is more than just talent and skill. The NBA is built on potential now. It’s about utility guys, about assets.”

Is Brown correct with his view? In 2000s, the most notable talented player to leave the NBA was Stephon Marbury who took his talent to China and created his own legend there.
Jaylen Brown’s talent not available for now?
Talent is what the Celtics will miss this season, relative to how their squad was structured in the past four seasons that saw them enter the NBA finals twice and win the title in 2024.
This is after they lost the core of the team in free agency and due to salary cap restrictions. It should also be noted that Jayson Tatum won’t be able to join them until next year.
Brown is the lone star now although he still has Derrick White, Sam Hauser, and Peyton Pritchard and supporting cast. His basketball I.Q., leadership and talent might not be there on the opening night against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 28-year-old is a day-to-day decision and is currently listed as questionable due to a left hamstring strain.
“He went through practice,” head coach Joe Mazzulla said in their Tuesday practice.
“We’ll see how he feels tomorrow, but he was able to go through everything today.”
