JJ Redick went off on his Los Angeles Lakers players the other day after their got their third straight loss. The lost to the Houston Rockets during Christmas and he appears tired. He specifically called out those who were consistently not making a choice.

“It’s a matter of making the choice, and too often we have guys that don’t want to make that choice. It’s pretty consistent who those guys are,” he said.
He continued by saying that he will make his guys feel uncomfortable as he said he won’t coach 53 more games similar to what they showed against the Rockets.
Kendrick Perkins has a strong opinion about the things Redick said. He said there was not accountability from the Lakers coach.

“Everybody finds it cute and funny when he goes on his rants and publicly calls out his team,” Perkins said in Sports Center.
“But JJ Redick gotta do better as well. It’s always everybody else’s fault but not JJ Redick’s. That’s a problem for me.”
JJ Redick did some reflection
Two days past since Redick’s comments and he said that they had productive meetings. He talked about data and possible line up changes.
JJ Redick commented on this again today and hinted at a possible lineup change:
“In terms of lineups, our guys upstairs have told us 250 minutes is like the sort of target number for when lineup data starts to set and normalize. So you can look at a lineup (that has played) 11… https://t.co/uOqneOvmtH

Another thing that he did, according to him, is looking at the mirror.
“Recalibration and reconnection. I think too, today, for myself, I’m always gonna look in the mirror first. I think it’s easy as a player or coach to say well it’s this guy’s fault, or we’re not doing this because of X, Y and Z,” he said.
“We had a great meeting as a staff this morning, came in super early and met with the players. It was very positive. And it was also listening. For our staff and myself to listen to the players and what they need.”
Lakers will test out this recent preparation and reflection against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.
