Joel Embiid looked at his non-selection for the 2026 All-Star Game from a different perspective. He said he was not bothered by it and could use the snub to better manage his injury.
With All-Star Weekend over, the Sixers regrouped, and it appears Embiid will need a little more rest.

Ky Carlin of Sixers Wire reported that Embiid is experiencing soreness in his knee and will need treatment. As a result, he will not play in their game against the Atlanta Hawks.
While participating in a right knee injury management program during the All-Star break, Joel Embiid reported soreness in his right shin. Following a meeting with doctors, Embiid has received daily treatment, while progressing through on-court work and strength and conditioning.

The 2023 MVP rested earlier than most Sixers as he sat out the games against the Portland Trailblazers and the New York Knicks. They lost both games.

Sixers will host the Hawks before heading West on Saturday to face the New Orleans Pelicans and Minnesota Timberwolves on a back-to-back.
Nick Nurse has optimistic update on Joel Embiid
Embiid, with his injury history and all, can cause people to be a little more concerned whenever he gets put on the injured list or when he falls on the floor during a game.
How worried should people about the 2023 MVP? Coach Nick Nurse’s words might tone the worry down.
“He was out there, looked pretty good,” Nurse said during Wednesday practice (via PHLY Sixers).

“He’s got a meeting with the doctors this afternoon, so we’ll know a little bit more about where he is.”
The Sixers are sixth in the Eastern Conference standings. Embiid has been balling, putting up more than 30 points in eight of their last 10 games.
