The Washington Wizards might not be seeing playoffs anytime soon but there was once a time when they can strike fear in the hearts of their opponents. That was when they still got John Wall and Bradley Beal who both made multiple All-Star appearances in the 2010s.

The latter is still in the league although he could be out for the season due to a hip injury while the former is already retired and is now busy making NBA takes an analysis. He also makes bold claims from time to time and the latest he triggered are fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland had success in the past season as the Cavs’ star guards. They even sent the team to a first place finish last season in the Eastern Conference.
This season, Tyrese Maxey is turning heads and he and exciting rookie VJ Edgecombe are making opponents’ life hard with their explosiveness and athleticism.

Now it’s time to play what if. Wall was at the Run it Back show and there, he was asked by DeMarcus Cousins a fun question.
“Bro, you were part of a dynamic duo, [with] Beal in Washington so I want to do a little fun game with you: 2-on-2 tournament Maxey-VJ Darius-Donovan Mitchel, you and Bradley Beal. Who’s going to win?” Cousins asked.
John Wall thinks they got the advantage
Wall did not hesitate to put himself and Beal on the winning side. Why? Because they are bigger and play better defense.
“I’ll tell you exactly why we win. . . We both can guard. I take pride in guarding my position, and I don’t think any of those guards can stop me,” he responded.
“And if you try to put the point guard on Brad, they’re too small. So I feel like we win that.”

He did praise the two pairs though, especially Mitchell.
“Donovan Mitchell is having a hell of a year so far. Main important thing is Garland can stay healthy.”
John Wall says he and Bradley Beal would win a backcourt 2v2 tournament against Mitchell-Garland, and Maxey-Edgecome 🗣️
