There’s a reason why the Golden State Warriors are not letting Jonathan Kuminga go despite the tension in their relationship. The 2021 seventh overall pick has rejected several offers from the team, including a three-year $75 million contract.

Kuminga’s usage is not proportionate to his skills and abilities, something that is understandable as the team still has Stephen Curry and then they added Jimmy Butler in February this year. That has been his main issue with the team and other teams are ready to give him that.
The 22 -year-old’s agent said they have been receiving offers from other teams and that their vision for his client is promising.
“[Suns owner] Mat Ishbia, … he would give JK whatever he could if he had the cap space,” agent Aaron Turner said.

He also added that other organizations are already planting seeds for Kuminga once he becomes a free agent next season.
“[They’re] saying, ‘Hey, we want you to be you. We don’t want you to change anything. We want to put the ball in your hands. We want to give you a huge opportunity to play,’” Turner added when he recalled the pitches made by other executives.
Jonathan Kuminga’s view of returning to Warriors
Kuminga’s camp did entertain offers from other teams but Turner said he remains excited to return to the Dubs. However, his goal of securing his future for his family also weighs a lot in the negotiations.
“If JK came back on the QO, would he be excited to play? Yeah, he’s itching to play right now,” Turner said.
“But the reality is, the number one thing for JK and his family, and if I’m watching, you know, advising, is he’s got to get to the summer of ’26, ’27 healthy.”

As it stands, the player’s camp are leaning towards accepting a $7.9-million qualifying offer which comes with a no-trade clause, giving him more command of his next move for the next season.
He played 47 regular season games last season, averaging 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assist.
