Dillon Brooks is a physical player and that’s what happened last Thursday when the Phoenix Suns won by a hairline against the Golden State Warriors. There was not much aggression from him in the Saturday rematch and yet, he still got ripped by Steve Kerr.

The Warriors coach said Brooks committed one of the dirtiest play he’s seen and accused him of planning the dirty play against Stephen Curry late in the Thursday game. This led to a flagrant 1 foul, free throws, and possession for the Dubs.
Steve Kerr called the second Draymond Green technical “weak” and brought up the Dillon Brooks “premeditated” flagrant on Steph Curry the other night

Kerr was agitated after the Saturday game, which they won by a hairline, too, because unlike Brooks, his player Draymond Green was ejected for shoving Collin Gillespie in the second quarter. He thought the ejection was unwarranted.

“How can you not be upset?” Kerr asked when asked to discuss the Green ejection.
“I mean, this is a guy who broke Gary’s elbow in the playoffs, clotheslining him with one of the dirtiest plays I’ve ever seen. So, it’s not like there’s not a track record there. And it’s right there. They look at it. I don’t know what the point of replay is if you’re not going to kick a guy out for literally punching somebody.”
He also thought that Brooks’ punch on Curry was premeditated.
Jordan Ott justifies Dillon Brooks’ actions
Ott was also at the podium while Kerr lambasting Brooks. The Suns coach acknowledge the physicality that Brooks brings to the team and said they are welcoming all kinds of effort from the former All Defensive Team member.
However, he also emphasized that he should not “go over it.”
“Wr love Dillon. We love what he brings each and every night. His incredible energy is super unique. What he brings to our group is all about winning. That’s what he’s about.”

He also described the recent encounter with Warriors as another “energized physical game.” As for Green’s ejection and the heated moment that transpired, he suggested it is because of the opponents being down at that juncture.
“There when it gets choppy, of all that stuff is going on, we’ve got to still somehow maintain,” he said.
“There’s a reason why there is frustration from the other team because we’re doing well. Then you got to take the lead from there to another level.”
