After facing the Milwaukee Bucks last Friday, Jrue Holiday of the Boston Celtics had something to say to his former team.

The Celtics emerged victorious in their game against the visiting Bucks, with Jrue Holiday scoring 20 points. During the post-game interview, Holiday shared his reviews about his former teammates.

“When it’s tip-off to the buzzer, I wanna win. It’s great seeing them every time I play and probably even more so because they are like my brothers and I wanna whoop their a** every time and they know that too, they feel the same way about me,” Holiday said.

“It is just like hey bro good to see you and then once the game starts it’s like nah we’re not friends anymore.”

Despite parting ways with his once comrades, Holiday maintains connections with some of the Bucks. He previously sent a message on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s birthday, albeit with a playful banter.

“Oh is it, I have to tell him when I see him, he’s getting old,” Holiday said.

Jrue Holiday notably got his first championship with the Bucks in 2021, his first season with the team. He experienced a series of trades last September 2023 that landed him in the Celtics, and he eventually got another championship in his opening season with a new squad

Holiday averages 12.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists this season. He and the Celtics will face the Detroit Pistons on Thursday, December 13.

Jrue Holiday shares frank advice on Pelicans star

Jrue Holiday has honest thoughts regarding the performance of Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans. Holiday believes Williamson has the potential in defense, which he struggles to showcase.

Jrue Holiday hasn’t wished Giannis a happy birthday yet, but he will later.

Williamson is notable for his offensive playstyle on the court. However, he’s facing poor health, which translates to injuries. His lack of defense further exacerbates his issues, preventing a breakthrough for the forward.

Jrue Holiday raised Williamson’s issues on Paul George’s podcast, providing blunt suggestions for the former Duke Blue Devil.

“For one, for him, I’d have him play a little more defense,” Holiday said.

“That’s not a knock on him. I think that would make him the talent that he is. It would elevate his game. Offensively I think he’s got it. I think he does what he’s supposed to do. I think his play for other people is that he gets to the rim and gets to the free-throw line, but I think for me, if he challenged himself defensively and his teammates saw that, I feel like they would follow.”

Williamson and the Pelicans are in a precarious spot in the West with a standing of 5-19. They will face the San Antonio Spurs next on Sunday.
