Madison Square Garden has been an NBA staple and home to New York-branded basketball. It’s also home to Julius Randle and his wife, Kendra. But more than just the building, it’s also the people who make the MSG the place to be. And Kendra, after getting news the hard way, had to share something emotional.
“Last night at MSG I was walking to my seat and I stopped to look for my favorite security guard, George Kohn, who was always in the same section every game for the past 6 years,” Kendra Randle wrote on X. “I didn’t see him so at halftime I asked a coworker where he was and she said unfortunately he passed.”

George Kohn was probably a staple that Julius Randle and his family frequently sees as constant as each pillar in the stadium. And to see him gone and missing gives you the thought that everything is just on borrowed time. There will always be a beginning and an end.
Kendra’s message: Heartbreak. And hope. She has shown intention of paying her respects by extending her doors to Kohn’s family. And while his life on this earth has been short, it was enough for Kendra and Julius Randle to feel his presence and share memories with him.
Julius Randle Opens Up About Mental Strength And Family Support Off The Court
Men don’t often talk about mental health as there’s this stigma. But Julius Randle had been open about it. In his recent interview, the Knicks star shared that staying mentally strong is an important factor in getting the job done as a professional athlete and as a husband.

“I think it’s so important to have a clear mind and being able to be strong mentally without anything influencing you as far as a substance, or a vice or whatever,” Julius Randle said. The forward has faced years of ups and downs—from fan criticism to tough playoff exits—and has learned to keep his focus without external distractions.
He also revealed that his wife, Kendra Randle, played a big role in helping him recognize when he was mentally checked out.
“It made me distant and not present. I’d kinda just be in my own world and I’m like, ‘No, I’m fine.’ Like this is what it is,” Randle said. “My wife would be like ‘No, you’re just not present. We’re having a conversation and you’re not really present.’”
There’s also another stigma where professional athletes with big names are near infallible. But this openness gives fans a better look at what athletes face behind it all. Julius Randle is proving that being mentally grounded is just as important as being physically prepared to compete every night.
