Karl-Anthony Towns has displayed a different tenacity in his game with the New York Knicks in the 2024-25 NBA season. With the Knicks, he’s averaged the most rebounds with 13.3. He’s also shot well from beyond the arc with 44.7%.
Towns joined the league after the Minnesota Timberwolves selected him first overall in the 2015 draft. In his 10th year, he’s shown a massive difference in his approach and attitude playing the game. In an interview with ESPN, the former Kentucky star spoke about his growth.

“When you get older, you see things with a different lens,” Towns said. “Life has taught me a lot, experience has taught me a ton. For me, to be in this position at this age, at this maturity level, with this understanding of life — I was a boy then, I’m a man now. For me to be in this situation, being back home, being at the Mecca, with everything that came with it and how I got here, it makes this process much easier and more understanding with it.”
“I think just grit, I think we showed a lot with our last game. We played with a lot of grit to find a way to win. It’s an ugly win. We didn’t play well, we didn’t really play Knicks basketball but we found a way at the end to win”
Before the season started, Towns was traded to the Knicks in exchange for Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo and future picks.
How has Karl-Anthony Towns performed for the Knicks?

Karl-Anthony Towns had a sluggish start to the season for the Knicks. During the start of the campaign, Towns had difficulty finding his rhythm on the floor, averaging 15.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in his first three games of the year.
However, the All-Star center quickly brushed off his first three performances and immediately announced his presence with a 44-point and 13-rebound game against the Miami Heat. Since then, KAT has not lifted his foot off the gas pedal and has maintained his aggressiveness on the floor.
The four-time All-Star has played 22 games, averaging 25.1 points, 13.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
