Common avenue to learn about NBA trades is through insiders but some New York Knicks players learned their getting a new teammate in the most unusual way. Jeremy Sochan is now a Knick after leaving the San Antonio Spurs and made sure his arrival will get the attention through an X post.

Sochan was released by the team that drafted him ninth overall in 2022 and he appears to be excited for the fresh start. He posted a video of one unknown guy singing lyrics from Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind to the top of his lungs with NYC’s Times Square in the background/

This is how Karl-Anthony Towns learned they got a new teammate.
“No way this how I find out 😂😂😂,” he wrote on the quote post.
Jordan Clarkson and Josh Hart also reacted to Sochan’s post.

Jeremy Sochan’s message to Spurs
Sochan’s time with the Spurs was ending even before it became official. He played just 28 games this season. He spent just eight minutes in the last two games his name was called. His only memorable game this season was a fight with another player.
He remains thankful for the opportunity opened to him the organization.
“When I was drafted, I didn’t realize how quickly this would feel like home. I’ve moved around a lot throughout my life, and this is the longest I’ve been in the same place since I was 15 years old,” he wrote on X.

“Through the ups and downs, I learned a lot, kept growing, and always stayed true to myself. This community and the fans embraced me from day one! It’s bigger than basketball and I’m forever grateful. I’ll always have love for San Antonio! Everything happens for a reason & time will tell.”
He will join a Knicks’ team looking for more toughness and bruisers. The team recently got Jose Alvarado and the guard has been delivering.
