New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns earned his sixth NBA All-Star selection as he was announced as part of the Eastern Conference reserves. Amid the tumultuous season for Towns and the Knicks, the big man was still credited for the work done. New York is 30-18, third in the East, making them one of the most competitive teams in the conference.
Towns has struggled under coach Mike Brown’s system. His numbers are down, only averaging 20.0 points, 11.8 rebounds (leads the NBA) and 2.9 assists. Additionally, KAT has been one of the main players who’s talked about in the trade rumors.
On Sunday, the Knicks faced the Los Angeles Lakers. During a break, the broadcast showed former star Vince Carter talking passionately to Towns about something. The eight-time All-Star was asked what he said to New York’s starting center.

“I said, ‘Congratulations to you, first of all,’ and his ability to block out the noise and still become an All-Star,” Carter said.
Carter said that KAT appreciated the gesture from the former Slam Dunk champion. Karl-Anthony Towns will be in Los Angeles for the NBA All-Star Weekend with his Knicks teammate Jalen Brunson, who was named part of the starting lineup.
Karl-Anthony Towns isn’t bothered by the trade rumors
A mid-season move was the most common answer that people came up with as the Knicks struggled in January. The player linked to the trade talks was Karl-Anthony Towns because of his struggles under Brown.
On Wednesday, Towns addressed the trade noise around him.
“I feel like I’ve been in trade rumors a lot for a lot of times, for a year damn near. That don’t matter to me,” said Towns.
Towns said that he’s only focused on helping the Knicks compete and improve their record.
