Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard isn’t bothered by everything that has happened to him and the organization over the past few weeks. The Clippers are being accused of facilitating $28 million to Leonard through Aspiration, according to Pablo Torre. It was done to allegedly avoid the NBA’s salary cap. This led to the organization being investigated. The Clippers, Leonard and the star player’s camp have denied doing such a financial move.

Even with the attention on the two-time NBA champion, he hasn’t panicked one bit and has been composed throughout everything. In the team’s Media Day, Leonard addressed the rumors around him and the franchise, denying the allegations about them.

During his talk with the media, Leonard also revealed that he isn’t bothered by how it has affected the team. The former San Diego State University star told reporters that he’s fixated in tackling the new campaign.

“I don’t do conspiracies, theories or anything like that,” Leonard said. “So, it’s about the season and what we got ahead of us right now … the NBA is going to do their job. None of us did any wrongdoing.I mean, that’s it. We invite the investigations. It’s not going to be a distraction for me or the rest of the team.”

“We invite the investigations. It’s not gonna be a distraction for me or the rest of the team.”

Kawhi Leonard spent most of the time in the offseason getting ready for the 2025-26 season. Last season, the six-time All-Star was limited to just 37 games, averaging 21.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists on 49.8% shooting.

The inflammation in his right knee was the reason why he missed most of the year.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said the Kawhi Leonard issue won’t affect L.A. from hosting the All-Star Game

The Clippers are currently under investigation due to the contract allegations regarding Kawhi Leonard. This has led to questions about the future of Los Angeles hosting the upcoming All-Star Weekend. The 2026 All-Star Weekend will happen in L.A., with the organization hosting the entire weekend at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.

Despite the rumors about Leonard’s contract, Commissioner Adam Silver confirmed that it won’t affect the franchise’s opportunity to host the mid-season festivities.

“There’s no contemplation of moving the All-Star Game,” Silver said, “and planning for the All-Star Game and the surrounding activities are operating completely independently of the ongoing investigation.”

Silver has separated the organization’s matter from the All-Star events.
