Miami WR Keelan Marion saw his season end when the Hurricanes lost 27–21 to Indiana in the College Football Playoff National Championship. The loss closed the door on Miami’s first CFP title appearance and ended a postseason run that had pushed the program back into the national limelight.
Not long after the final whistle, Marion’s name started trending for a reason that had nothing to do with the box score.

Straub is an influencer who posts content in the fashion and fitness space. Throughout Miami’s playoff run, she shared several posts from the stadium, offering behind-the-scenes glimpses from the Hurricanes’ postseason journey.
Ahead of the championship game, Straub uploaded a TikTok showing a custom send-off she made for Marion. The video featured a football-themed banner and balloons, which she said were meant to mark the biggest game of his career.
The couple also interacted openly on Instagram during the playoffs. In one game-day post, Straub tagged Marion and wrote, “Lace your boots up.” He replied in the comments. In another post showing the two together on the field after a playoff game, Marion responded again.
As the video went viral, fans reacted:
A fan said, “Just another gold-digging fake blondie.”
Another folk said, “They love each other for their brains. Oldest love story in the world.”
One more fan said, “He’s winning in life.”
Another remarked, “Just another dumb snowbunny.”
Another said, “Such a natural scene, I mean she even looked back to see if it was recording.”
While the video gained traction online, Marion faced the reality of the loss in the locker room.
“I got to look for the ball and make that play for him,” Marion said during Miami’s postgame media session, “So that’s all on me.”
The comment referred to the final offensive play of the game. With 51 seconds left and Miami driving, quarterback Carson Beck threw a deep pass intended for Marion that was intercepted, sealing the win for Indiana. Marion finished the title game with limited production as Indiana’s defense controlled Miami’s passing attack for most of the night.
The Hurricanes walked away without a championship. But Marion’s final moment of the season came from the stands, not the field, and that image ended up traveling far beyond the final score.
