Kelsey Mitchell had plenty to smile about on Tuesday night, and not just for herself.

Her Indiana Fever teammate Aliyah Boston hit another career milestone in their 95-75 win over the Seattle Storm, pulling down her 1,000th rebound. Boston grabbed nine boards in the game to push her total into four figures, becoming the youngest in franchise history to do it. She also dropped 27 points in the win.

Mitchell made sure the moment didn’t go unnoticed, reposting the team’s graphic on her Instagram story with a simple shoutout:

“My big baby! Deserved, earned,” she wrote.

The Fever are still without Caitlin Clark, but Mitchell’s scoring has kept them in the playoff mix. She’s been so consistent this month that her name has even floated into MVP conversations, though the award is still expected to go to stars like A’Ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, or Alyssa Thomas.

Boston wasn’t the only one making history in Seattle. Kelsey Mitchell set a mark of her own, becoming the Fever’s single-season scoring leader. She put up 21 points against the Storm, giving her 787 on the year and pushing past Clark’s previous record of 769.

She’s averaging 20.7 points per game—third best in the WNBA—and her season total has climbed to 841, second only to Wilson. With Clark nursing a groin injury, Mitchell has carried much of the scoring load while the Fever try to hold position in the standings.

For Boston, the milestone rebound is another step in a fast-growing career. For Mitchell, it’s proof her hot hand is keeping the Fever alive in the playoff race. And for Indiana, it was a night where two of their leaders rewrote the record book in the middle of a postseason push.
