The Miami Heat are expected to make a significant change to their roster in the 2025-26 NBA season. Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins believes it’s time for one star player to move on from the franchise and predicts that he’d likely be moved during the regular season. It’ll be the first time for the Heat to start their campaign without Jimmy Butler since they acquired him in 2019.

The only stars left in the franchise are Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro. Last season, fans saw the Heat make the playoffs despite trading their best player to the Golden State Warriors in the middle of the year. But even though they were a playoff team, it was still obvious that they didn’t have enough to be a threat in the Eastern Conference.

This season, no one expects the Heat to be a force in the conference, leading to Perkins to believe that it’s time for Adebayo to move on from the franchise.

In the recent episode of the show, “Road Trippin’,” Kendrick Perkins predicted that Adebayo will be moved by the Heat this season.

“Bam Adebayo will not be in a Miami Heat jersey at the end of this year. He will not finish the season in Miami… I believe it’s time. Miami is nowhere close to being a playoff team. I never want to doubt Erik Spoelstra, but their roster stinks. Bam is at the point where he needs to be on a contender,” Perk said.

After his take, his co-host, Channing Frye, questioned if Adebayo really wants to leave the organization that drafted him. According to Frye, it doesn’t look like the All-Star center is interested in moving on from Miami.

With the East wide open, Kendrick Perkins has demands for LaMelo Ball

Many expect the East to be wide open since there aren’t any major teams predicted to take over the conference. With that, Kendrick Perkins wants LaMelo to take the next step in being a star player. According to Perk, it starts with defense.

He wants to see Ball become a better defender this season and establish himself as a well-rounded All-Star.

“He has to be a better defender, right? Like averaging a little bit over three fouls a game. The only two people that were worse than him were Karl-Anthony Towns and Jaren Jackson Jr.,” the former NBA player said.

Ball has the height, length and athleticism to be one of the best defensive guards in the NBA. However, he’s always focused in playing offense since being in the league in 2020.
