Kevin Durant is set to play for a fifth franchise heading into the 205-26 season after his last team Phoenix Suns decided to deal him to the Houston Rockets. KD poured his heart out for the Suns amid all the injuries he suffered in the last 2.5 seasons and so, he thought he had the right to feel upset by Matt Ishbia’s decision.

The two-time champion was let go by the Suns in exchange for Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks,. The deal, approved last July, involved seven other teams and is regarded as the biggest in league history.
The trade was hard to pull off given the amount of players and franchises involved. It was hard on the part of players’ too because of the bond they had with their teams and fans.
That’s what KD feels right now. The 17-year veteran said he was upset with his former team for pulling the plug. However, he accepted that that’s what happened since it is still all business.
“Initially, I was a little upset because I felt like we built a solid relationship,” Durant said of the Suns.

“To hear that from a different party was kind of upsetting, but that’s just the name of the game. So, I got over that quickly and was trying to figure out what the next steps were.”
Durant led the Suns to two postseason finish in his 2.5 years with them but they failed to reach the playoffs last season despite the Big 3 they had featuring him, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker.
Kevin Durant reveals awareness of Warriors reunion
Suns are hard to blame for the pushing the trade. KD is a very talented player and an asset everywhere he goes.
He was so in demand in February that even his former team Warriors was willing to embrace him back. Durant left the Warriors in 2019 after helping them win the 2017 and 2018 championships.

“I heard Golden State was in the mix around the trade deadline,” Durant said.
“That’s when Rich came into play, and those relationships that we built around the league, and also playing in Golden State helped, and we were able to tell them to hold off on that.”
