Kevin Durant‘s time with the Golden State Warriors has always been criticized. It’s been years since Durant’s move to the Bay Area, but many are still not impressed with his decision to join the Warriors. Most of the criticism about Durant’s move was because he joined a team that had won 73 games and was one game away from winning an NBA championship.
Most critics and fans think that Durant took the easy way out. While KD doesn’t see it as a big deal, there are others who haven’t moved on. On Monday’s episode of “Game Over,” famed analyst Max Kellerman has a strong opinion about the future Hall of Famer joining the Warriors, which resulted in two championships.

“In KD’s case, the championships are not like, for example, LeBron’s championship in Cleveland,” Kellerman said. “It’s because, instead of demonstrating the thing that I just said, he entered a situation where that team is now so much better, probably than any team, ever.
Max Kellerman says Kevin Durant’s rings have ZERO gravity
"Those rings don't have the same gravity as LeBron’s in Cleveland or even Steph’s before KD got there… you’re a luxury item rather than the foundation."

“He is not considered by almost anyone, the greatest player ever because the way you prove greatness, is through leading a team to a championship. But because he parachuted into the championship, and put them so far over the top, they could not lose.”
Kevin Durant has no regrets about joining the Warriors
Long before the Warriors won a championship with Kevin Durant, the NBA star already expressed that he believed he made the right decision. He turned out to be right since they became an unbeatable team and were the clear favorites to win the Larry O’Brien trophy during their three-year run. In 2019, he left Golden State and joined the Brooklyn Nets.
Years after leaving the franchise, there was an opportunity for him to return to the Warriors last season when he was still with the Phoenix Suns.
“And I love Steph. I love hooping with Steph,” Durant said. “And I really thought about going back to the Warriors. But it was a certain part of me that just didn’t like that this last little phase of my career was gonna be—where I was gonna play was gonna be—that these owners was just gonna work behind my back to make that decision for me.”
Now, Kevin Durant is thriving with the Rockets, which the Warriors remain loyal in building around Stephen Curry.
