Houston Rockets’ Amen Thompson may be young in the league but he has shown from time to time that he is not the type to back down. Remember that he incident he had with Miami Heat star Tyler Herro? He was suspended for that.

He had another incident and this time, it was in a pre-season game. Rockets played the New Orleans Pelicans at the Ball Arena for their second to the last before their opening game next week. That was game was filled with everything. There was Kevin Durant’s midrange master class, Zion Williamson’s highlight dunk, and a fight by Thompson with guard Jose Alvarado.
The two got entangled in the second quarter when they were jostling for a rebound. Alvarado, the smaller one, tried his best to prevent Thompson from getting the loose ball but the latter took offense of that and it got a little physical. The Pelicans guard grabbed the Rockets forward and Thompson had to give him one.
Many observes thought Thompson let out a punch on Alvarado.

FIGHT IN THE PRESEASON! Amen Thompson & Jose Alvarado got tangled up, then wrestled each other to the floor, & Amen took some swipes at Alvarado’s face in the process! 😳🥊
Thompson received a flagrant foul 1 & Alvarado got a technical foul.

Evan Turner pleads to Amen Thompson
The Rockets’ rising star has had history of fights and among the observes who thought should tone it down is Evan Turner.
Thompson is among those expected to be very important for Rockets this season and he can’t be suspended. Turner see
Dear amen,
We know you are willing to fight and aren’t afraid. We want to see your next steps as a player. Your team needs you, yall not loaded enough #pause to be sitting on the sideline with a 4 game suspension cause you wanted to fight a welterweight

The 10-year NBA veteran, who last saw an NBA court in 2020, mean well but Thompson’s Kevin Durant thought it was unsolicited.
Oh great. more unsolicited advice

Turner explained himself.
I just didn’t want you getting left out to dry, big dog.
I was kinda sticking up for you in advance so you wouldn’t have to go that other route 🫶🏽Thanks for the response, sniper 😁🥹

In the end, the two agreed that they understand each other and the exchange was just simple banter.
As for Thompson and Alvarado, they hugged it out long before Turner’s post. It’s just competitive fire between two competitive players.
