Kevin Durant scored 37 and 30 points in the last two outings for the Houston Rockets and the last game allowed him to surpass Wilt Chamberlain in the All-Time Scoring List at no. 7. He finished the night with a total of 31,421 to surpass the NBA legend’s 31,419.

Durant reached the milestone through a 3-pointer in the third quarter.

The two-time champion paid tribute to Chamberlain and said that he is one of the blueprints for his career.
“Wilt is somebody I studied and try to look up as much as I can on a player like that,” he told reporters after the game when asked about the acheivement.
“He set a standard for NBA players and grateful to reach that and inspired by what he produced to the game of basketball. Portland is such a classy, classy city for recognizing me in that moment and honoring me.”
Next up for him is Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki who’s sitting at no. 6 spot. He will need 141 points to surpass his 31,560 total career points.

KD is on a scoring tear right now and with the way he is playing and barring any injuries that will keep him out for a number of games, he might overtake Nowitzki by January.
Kevin Durant is frustrated
He and his team has a bigger problem though as they lost those last two games against a team that they should be beating – the Portland Trailblazers.
Durant did everything he could in that game but when crunch time came, they stumbled. His frustration over his teammates was caught on video.
Kevin Durant was pissed after that Jabari missed 3 three that hit the backboard and Amen Thompson not slowing it down when it was a 2 pt game which costed them the game smh.
Young dudes gotta be better a 37 year old shouldn’t have to carry this much of a damn load‼️#AllFire pic.twitter.com/imSktL18bh

Head coach Ime Udoka felt his frustration. He thinks the younger teammate did not fulfill their role.

“We take a 37-year-old out of the game for two minutes and you lose a 13-point lead, 11-0 run. That’s what went wrong,” Udoka said. “[We] don’t play with any aggression [and] confidence, [we’re] mentally weak. You have a 15-point quarter, 1-for-17 from three, I think a bunch of wide-open looks.”
He emphasized that their main problem right now is relying on Durant too much.
“Making shots helps, but you have to guard on one end, and you have to play with some aggression on one end, drive it physically. Take care of the ball, not turn it over. So all of the above. But the fact that we have to rely on a 37-year-old for 40-plus minutes is a problem.”
